Just as with the very small wrist, it is not easy to be a watch lover with large ones! Looking for a perfect watch strap might not be as easy and the selection is often not as rich and diverse as for people with more common wrist sizes.

What wrist is a large wrist?
The average wrist size of a man is 7.25 inches or 18.42 cm – 50% of men have a wrist that is bigger than 7.25 inches and 50% have a wrist that is smaller. 80% of men have a wrist size bigger than 6.75 inches or 17.5 cm and 20% of men have a wrist size bigger than 7.75 inches or 19.67 cm.
Extra long watch straps are usually needed for wrists in excess of 185mm, usually, wrists below that size should fit the regular straps (of course, all in all, depending on the strap design and watch diameter). Standard length watch straps are fit for women’s wrists of up to 165mm-180mm and up to 184mm-197mm for men.

To get a perfect watch strap you need to understand exactly what is the watch strap length and what is an extra long watch strap.
The length of both parts of the strap should be measured, both the tip part (with holes) and the element part (with buckle/clasp attached – but please do note that the buckle/clasp is not included in the length of the strap) with the tip part being always the longer one. Most popular extra long sizes are 125/85 mm for 195 mm wrist; 130/90 mm for 205 mm wrist.
You can also measure your wrist and then factor in the width of your watch face. At the same time keep in mind that you can adjust all 2-piece straps size so they can be a little longer than needed.

It is very important to remember that the time of oversized watch cases is over and a balanced and harmonious look is the best idea as it is in fashion and is a versatile universal look that will serve you in all kind of different situations.
Here are a few rules that will help men with large wrists out:
1. Watch face from 42 to 45 mm
2. Watch case thickness 10 mm will still look natural on you
3. You can wear heavy metal bracelets
4. On a large watch face, additional embellishments are OK
5. A simple look will be more versatile
